Membership
PGD Videm pri Ptuju has active members, female members, youth, veterans and supporting members.
Active Firefighters
An active firefighter may carry out protection and rescue tasks in emergencies.
An active firefighter is a person who meets the following conditions:
- Is professionally trained
- Has completed initial and advanced firefighter training
- Is physically and mentally capable of performing operational tasks
- Has passed a medical examination
- Has not been convicted of a criminal offense against life, body or property
- Is aged 18-63 (men) or 18-50 (women)
Youth
Training of volunteer firefighters begins at an early age.
Children can join the fire department as pioneers from the age of 6. After turning 12, they can enroll as youth members in the 12-16 age group.
After turning 16 until the age of 18, they are trainees.
During their traineeship, they can participate in firefighting interventions and perform tasks that correspond to the traineeship program and are not life-threatening or harmful to health. They perform tasks under the supervision of instructors with prior written consent from their parents.
During their traineeship, youth members first complete the initial course for operational firefighters, and after one year, the advanced course for operational firefighters.
After reaching the age of 18 and successfully completing the initial and advanced course for operational firefighters, they are accepted among active firefighters.
Female Members
Female members hold a special position in the fire department.
Female members participate in fire department activities for all members, and can also organize and attend events specifically for female members.
Veterans
Veterans are firefighters who can no longer be active firefighters but remain active in the fire department.
Veterans are led by Janko Slameršak. They organize and participate in their own activities, while also ensuring that their experience is passed on to both the operational and organizational aspects of the society.
